Ok firstly apologise has been way too long in between posts but we have been really busy well…moving house!!
Our Paddington house is officially renovated and we are finally in…Gigi our 3 year old is a little confused asking on a hourly basis when we are moving back to Palm Bch but apart from this we are all pretty impressed with the end result.
A renovation is a little like having a baby… at the time it is quite stressful and everyone loses a lot of sleep but at the end we are in agreement that it really wasn’t that bad after all and dare i say it….may even go again!!?
When i find the time (currently still trying to sort out the girl’s wardrobe!) i will do some before and after’s of each room but for now here are some recent shots of our home;)
We owe a huge thanks to our architect Luigi Rosselli and our builder David Anderson from Buildsmart Projects; although we were all very over our weekly site meetings towards the end…they will be missed (kind of);)

The front of our house – gate not shut though! and yellow door open so apologies not the best photo!

The yellow door;) House numbers still to go on!

The sitting room..can you tell that i am obsessed with yellow and blue!?

The Restoration Hardware Belgium Linen curtains (shipped via My US) – so happy with them!

Luigi’s gorgeous curved steps leading to the 1st floor

All hands were on deck (literally) for the move in – thankfully our girls love cleaning!

The formal dining room – am hunting for a moroccan rug thinking dark grey or even black (it is a dining room after all..food will be spilt!)

Close up of the sitting room; pink bakers tray is from Mark Tuckey Home in Newport (Gigi chose the colour!); spotty cushions from Temple & Webster and turquoise ikat silk cushions from Table Tonic

The devine yellow chairs are vintage from PAD in Waterloo (possibly my favourite shop in Sydney) they are upholstered in a Chistopher Farr linen/cotton (still need to scotch guard them!!)

My favourite feature of the house’s design is that you can see straight through to the garden from the front door..love that a blue juju hat greets everyone as well;) (from Table Tonic)..how embarrassing for me just noticed you can see that the rug is folded over in this photo – this rug was intended for the living room but we loved it so much in here that it stayed – thankfully it’s a patchwork so i can make it smaller (got it from Loom in Melbourne)

Mike’s new toy – we have grass so of course need a lawn mower – this is the smallest and lightest on the market (it’s a Bosch if anyone is interested!)

Gosh i just love these lights – we got them from Gineico; they were a splurge but worth it!

This is the wallpapered powder room (used a Batik pattern wallpaper which i bought in NY from ‘China Sea’s); it’s really hard to get a good photo as the room is so small!

The girl’s christened the pool – they are enjoying a post swim snack on the concrete daybed which Mummy still needs to get cushions made up for!

Speaking of getting things made up…this is the ottoman that i had made through Justin Puddick Upholsterers in Bronte for our walk in robe; fabric is China Sea’s and i piped it with a fluro orange from Orchestra outdoor fabrics

I was dying to get to Fox Studio’s market for some fresh flowers (and a nutella crepe!) – these roses were divine..the crepe was too;)

Mike wasted no time in getting back into the swing of city life – Wednesday twilight races from CYC (taking the helm with Marcus our neighbour)

We had Mike’s sister in town visiting so had to take them to Guillaume at Bennelong…most delicious meal i have had in a long time!

Yes we have had a busy week; Our Ella Bella had her first day at school!

And last of all – Paddo at night; we were blown away by the lighting – good job Secret Garden’s!!

Yeah Mummy. When are you moving back to Palm Beach. Paddington looks amazing!
Looks absolutely amazing, from the front door to the pool. You must be ecstatic. Lucky you. x
Congratulations – it looks gorgeous.
Love the front door colour!! Your house looks fabulous!! Well done.
Looking at the beautiful pics on my phone Heidi. Can’t wait to get home and get a better look on the laptop. Enjoy your stunning new home. xx
What an awesome job Heidi! Well done! Both your places look amazing… I can’t wait to see them in person when I am next in Sydney… Sorry I didn’t get in touch over Xmas, was just so rushed.. Anyway hope you are well and hope to see you soon. Have loved following your blog, please make sure to keep it up even though your house is done! Xx
every single bit a stunning as I expected Heidi. Wish there are like buttons so that I can go through and show my appreciation…..enjoy!
wow Heidi looks amazing! you did a great job with all the furniture, so beautiful. Hope Ella had a good week x
Just beautiful, you must be thrilled. Keep the photos coming!
Hi Heidi! Your reno is looking ah-maaaaze! You have done SUCH an amazing job and without an interior designer! It’s looking fantastic, especially the Christopher Farr fabrics. They are simply stunning. That green palm one is my fave. I can’t wait to hear about what other projects you have up your sleeve! I would love to read a post about whether you contemplated using a decorator and if so, who would you like to have? Thanks for all the inspiration!
Hi Stacey – Thanks so much that’s so kind of you;) Gosh i think choosing an interior designer would be the hardest part!! As there are so many that i love;) Anna Spiro would be up there! My next door neighbour and good friend Christiana Fantl is an interior designer so this helped a lot and i did run a lot of things by Luigi Rosselli our architect who tend tend to reign me in a little as sometimes by taste can be a little OTT;)
Will definitely do a post on this though – thanks for the inspiration and the Fenton & Fenton sale tip;) I measured up the space in our dining room for that rug and it’s slightly too big so hoping to find a winner in Morocco when we go in May!
Heidi x
Oh Heidi – soooo jealous that you’re going to Morocco. It’s one place that I’m dying to go to. I can’t wait to see pics of your trip and I’ll just have to live vicariously for now! I’m going to google search your neighbor right now… Also, did you ever consider Arent and Pyke? Just a thought. Ps. You should totally pitch to a mag when you’re done – the house is definitely mag-worthy!
