The past week i became completely obsessed by the above 2 subjects…
Chairs – i finally got our breakfast nook sorted when our Wegner and Bertoia’s arrived (i have to confess they are replica’s i am sorry to all the artists’s out there but when you have small children that are messy eaters/artists paying through the nose for a designer chair is just not happening). I also made a spontaneous chair purchase to complete our Paddo sitting room from a great shop on Oxford St (there are seriously not many as 3/4 of the St is empty! seriously what is going on here?!) called Opus Design Co www.opusdesignco.com.au
Vignettes – I am addicted to instagram in quite a big way and i noticed a vignette competition going on run by Jen Bishop from www.theinteriorsaddict.com so i decided to get on board – the rules were that you had to post one vignette a day and each day was to feature a different subject such as books, texture, love etc..the competition was judged by Steve Cordony Interior Design Editor at Belle… to say that i was consumed was an understatement!
Enjoy the pics xx

The blue velvet chair from Opus Design Co at Paddington; it’s the perfect size and shape for the sitting room space and am loving it’s retro simplicity

From the side – the chair has great lines! Goes perfectly with the yellow armchairs:) blue and yellow again – i just can’t help myself!

Chair no 2 is the Bertoia wire chair – i was hoping it would come in white but you do have to be careful when you are shopping online! i don’t mind the silver as it blends into the background more which is what i was after and for $99 i can’t complain got mine from www.sokol.com they were delivered within 2 days of ordering; am going to get some mini ones for the girl’s balcony;)!

Chair number 3 – replica blue Hans Wegner wishbone chair’s; i ordered these months ago as was quite a long lead-time; got mine from www.lifeinteriors.com as were the best quality on the replica market

This is our leather upholstered breakfast nook which i am super happy with – it’s where congregate! the leather is super buttery and soft sourced it from Contemporary leathers from Instyle which has such an amazing selection of textures and colours

I could’t resist this cute plastic dog from sokol.com its a replica Eero Aarnio – the girl’s love it – looks great on the deck and doesn’t need feeding – sold!

Ok this was Day 1 of the vignette competition which i literally decided that i would enter on the day; i obviously didn’t read the rules very well as i thought that the vignette had to include all of the elements of Books, Texture, Love, Shiny, Cushions, Old and Pattern; i later realised that each vignette was to focus on each element as in Day 1 = books, Day 2 = texture and so on..how embarrassing for me!!

Day 2 = Texture, i think this was my favourite coral pink, coral and blue with shagreen box and crystals on sisal;)

Ok i admit it i got lazy here Day 3 = Love, my sleeping Ella on her new spotty bed linen and China Sea’s upholstered bed head = Love for me;)

Day 4 = Shiny; thankfully my neighbour has a lot of beautiful shiny objects which came in very handy for this vignette;) that silver pear is my favourite!

Day 5 = Cushions; oh boy where do i start cushions i am not short of these are some of my favourites of course all and blue and white; they are leaning up against our China Seas’s upholstered bed head;)

Day 6 = Old, a collection of beautiful old objects that had belonged to my neighbour’s mother in law sitting on our vintage patchwork rug

Final Day 7 = Pattern, went for a slightly Moroccan theme with books and jar atop an Indian cabinet and my favourite tiles in the background

A week of frantically arranging vignettes has honed my skills – i decided to re arrange our sitting room coffee table – do you love those white wooden banana’s? – got them from Opus Design Co as well – it’s dangerous living so close to such fabulous Interior shops!

This is also dangerous – Underwood Cafe brownie’s; i was walking back from Pilate’s starving..i had no chance! To Die For…
