There is something very alluring about a gorgeous South American couple especially when they ooze talent and style. I stumbled upon this design duo (Leandro is the architect he is from Venezuela and Ashe is the interior designer she is from New Mexico) when i was hunting down a Hans Wegner desk for our study in Paddington on www.1stbibs.com something about the Ashe + Leandro cover image screamed style and eclectic use of colour (which i love)..i may not have found my desk but i did find yet another design Muse.. now for some colourful eye candy...and TGIF!!??

I told you they were gorgeous - Ashe and Leandro pictured together in a NY Westside apartment that they designed and decorated

They have a serious eye for art - the hallway of a Park Ave apartment

This is my favourite job of theirs - its a house in California owned by actress Jennifer Carpenter (she is apparently in 'Dexter' never heard of the show!?) the house was featured in 'O' Oprah Winfrey's magazine which was obviously welcomed publicity for the duo; how good does that Mexican throw look over the white Eames lounge!?

I loovvee this bedroom - looks like they have used Christopher Farr 'Brissa' print as wallpaper (we are using this in green in the girls bedroom for their wardrobe seat); the pink cubes pop against the blues and charcoals in the room- very Mexicana colour palette;)

The casual dining area of the Carpenters house - my fav colour combo blue and yellow and their signature use of skylights as a modern cut out - divine!

Terrace of Carpenters house - mexican white acapulco chair teamed with a bright yellow chair - perfection

Carpenters Kitchen - cut out skylight over the kitchen sink - genius!

Carpenters living room; love Ashe's use of metallic coffee tables; the stack of rounded cushions in the corner acts as a useable sculpture

Love this bird lamp again in carpenters house - they just have a way with using the unexpected and making it work

We are back in their home turf of NY now; this is the bedroom of a westside apartment; again this unexpected use of turquoise blue just happens to look amazing - the red persian/tibetan rug grounds the out there colour; i love the window joinery seat - they just nail the modern vs contemporary mix

In the same westside apartment - those gorgeous window seats feature again and the repetitive use of red gives the room such an individual aesthetic (love that grey runner and what looks to be a saarinen chair)

Boys bedroom of the Westside apartment - again a gorgeous mix of colours yet so sophisticated - blue, green and brown!! and the always present white joinery

In the living room of the Westside apartment they somehow make short curtains look good?! love the matching retro inspired sofa's - such great symmetry and balance

Genius - black and white rug and black and white cabinet; this is in a perry St NY apartment

Perry St bathroom; again their signature use of blue; love the curved shelving niches here

Their signature white joinery and play with colour - i will be taking a cue from this when decorating our living room shelving in Paddo..its all about the symmetry!

Hop over to Caracas Venezuela - The VIP hotel which was designed by the talented duo

Aaagh this is the blue that i was trying to find for our Paddo master bedroom (it's salt in the wounds) as after the 7th colour selection i stopped beating the dead horse and have opted for a very light blue/grey...again they nail the colour - love the rattan and ikat pillows together - a nod to Ashe's Mexican homeland

Still in Venezuela this is a Beach Club that the duo designed..i love this colourful assortment of Mexican Suzani cushions..buy the mexican suzani's at www.tabletonic.com.au

Just love this look - African or most likely Mexican masks - oh so eclectic - love the interspaced pebbles on the concrete flooring

Stretched mexican suzani as art work; i have a beloved multi colour suzani and i might just do the same as they really are pieces of art work...www.tabletonic.com.au
