One of my favourite Interior books that i got for Xmas was 'Interiors - Atelier AM' which features LA based husband and wife Designer duo Michael and Alexandra Misczynski. Their restrained style which avoids the overly decorative but manages to harmonise the architectural environment nails the rustic yet refined look. They do this through using minimal furniture pieces many of which are ridiculously expensive antiques - think no less than 16th century!;)

Here are a few of my favourite images of their work - Enjoy!

The book - my hubby ordered it through Amazon

These beautiful old leather chairs are used a lot by the duo

Guest bedroom - who would of thought olive green velvet cushions could look so good!?

The alfresco area of the duo's own home in Los Angeles - love these woven cane chairs and hanging lanterns

The entrance hall of a Ranch they did in Santa Fe, California - love the arched windows;)

Another beloved dramatic arch seen from the same entranceway

Lime stone coffee table anchors this living room - their signature is slip covered white linen sofa's;)

More white upholstered chairs; love the white linen curtains on the slimline iron rod's

Stainless steel kitchen - again nailing the mix of rustic to refinement

Love these blue linen couches - again you can see their use of these leather chairs - looks like a 1930's Jean Michael Frank?

Signature AM restraint - a simple beautiful old piece of furniture

Stunning master bedroom - if only we all had soaring ceilings!

Love all of their aged wooden joinery - i love this bleached wood i would have used a lot more of it in Paddo (another regret!)

Such a beautifully simple bathroom - love these windows!!

Stone loggia..

Blackened wire brushed oak with honed granite counters in a Aspen home - not normally a fan of black kitchens but i do love this one

Outdoor pool in the Aspen lodge - wouldn't want to be getting the heating bill for this one!

A very different climate yet a similar designed pool - this one is in a Las Vegas house - pool just look so much better without a fence!!

This Orange County house designed by KAA architects and of coursed interiors done by AM design is my absolute favourite!

The living room - perfection

OC Dining room - i love everything about this room especially those orange chairs!!

OC Kitchen - not a huge fan of the walnut joinery but do love these farm style sinks

OC TV Room - love these indigo upholstered couches - a little bit Indonesian

I have actually used this image before (Thanks AD!) but didn't know it was by AM - LOVEEEEE!

Custom made bed sheathed in Shagreen (To the non interior designers that is sting ray!;)

Nice guest room

Guest room's terrace! Love these spanish style tiles..

This probably wouldn't be my pick for a pool shape but each to their own! The pool is lined with a stone-and-abalone-shell mosaic by Llongueras (Am thinking this client had no limit to their budget!) Love these sun lounges! And that built in sunken couch area

Again have used this image before - just love this rustic white concrete joinery - they are actually porcupine fish that are hanging from the ceiling!!
