Fresh from a hot tip via my pal's blog tabletonic.blogspot.com.au (yes you can forge friendships through pouffe purchasing!) Lou featured new book 'Marrakesh By Design' by Maryam Montague (have just noticed there are 2 ways of spelling this City!) as Lou's gorgeous homewares shop Table Tonic had made it into the book as a Moroccan Homegoods supplier!!

Boy did i Looovvvee every page of this design book which features all things Moroccan and plenty of handy style tips as well as many beautiful images of Peacock Pavillions www.peacockpavilions.com the boutique hotel that Maryam owns and runs with her architect husband who designed it. If there is a hotel that is on my must visit list this is it - Maryam even takes you on shopping tours through Marakesh as she is one shopper in the know when it comes to Moroccan homewares and fashion.

As some of you may know i am going for a streamlined Moroccan style for Paddo so what is a Moroccan styled house without a bedazzled Moroccan wedding blanket or a vintage Berber, Haouz, Beni Ouarain, or Azilal...carpet!! Just head to Maryam's online shop www.redthreadsouk.com to see her ammaazzing range; only issue is... shipping (damn Oz you are beautiful but so far away) i have enquired on shipping the rugs and because they are so heavy they have to be shipped by expediter and claimed at the airport (have done this before with home wares from Bali and its a nightmare)...so if anyone knows where these rugs are available at a reasonable price in Oz please let me know;)!!

Pool amongst the olive grove at Peacock Pavilions in Marakesh...as i said i am going to this hotel hopefully sooner rather than later!

Peacock Pavilions..

Imagine copping a squat (aka Pretty Woman) and setting up a picnic lunch under these olive tree's!

Or for those non squatters the beautiful butterfly chair option is available (Gosh i love these chairs!)

Date Palm in Peacock Pavilions at sunset..

All rooms in the hotel have been stylishly decorated by Maryam..love that fireplace

Of course the beds are flanked with gorgeous moroccan wedding blankets

More gorgeous bedroom's..and wedding blankets...

Just another hotel hallway..hardly!

OMG! This hand stencilled staircase...next renovation..love this!!

Ok now onto the merchandise..this hallway runner..if i had a hallway i would buy it! i even contemplated hanging it on the wall of our Paddo stairwell..still not enough space!!

Loovveee this; not quite wide enough for our Paddo dining room though (going to re measure this week just to make sure)

Also love this one - these are pieces of art would almost feel guilty putting them on the floor!

Love this one too...such a unique colour and pattern

Gosh this is divine too; although since we are going with the white floorboards in Paddo can afford to inject a bit of colour!

Love the traditional diagonal patterns

Now onto the wedding blankets (such a beautiful story behind the making of these) we will have to have one on the end of our bed in Paddo; we are painting the room in a DARK navy blue so will go for a blanket in as light a colour as i kind find (some of them can be quite yellowish - they are vintage after all)

This one could be it! the blue and red stripes would go perfectly!

This woollen blanket could easily be used as a rug also - just need to put down some underlay - love these colours!!
