I stumbled upon this LA based design duo through 1stdibs Introspective Magazine where the worlds top designers make their picks of the stunning vintage and antique wares for sale (I am just quietly addicted to the site).

Both originally from New York Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe merged their design backgrounds in early 2004 forming the partnership of Nickey · Kehoe, Inc. Their style is a bit boho chic and a bit traditional (kind of similar to mine!) They try to blend periods mixing the old and the new "old world patina and modern simplicity keeps their aesthetic fresh and timeless" they achieve this by mostly furnishing with antiques and vintage items that they scour the globe for "so it doesn't look like they went to one modern store to buy everything".

As well as running a design firm focused on residential and commercial projects (yes the Hollywood set are all over them) they also have a retail shop (3,000 sqft on Beverly Boulevard) which houses their finds, private label products and a selection of handpicked goods from around the world.

They pretty much have my dream job - clearly a trusting duo they also live next door to each other!! in a Spanish Mission garden apartment;)

Amy & Todd - yes they look super cool and friendly;)

The dining room in a Ranch in Malibu..a gorgeous green mexican Suzani is used as a table cloth (Table Tonic stock these)

The living room of the mediterranean style 1970's ranch features modernist arm chairs mixed with suzani upholstered pouffes and a pollock style rug; the red pendant light was created by artist Colin Fisher; the cushions are made from old kimono sashes

OMG those arched windows get me every time; loving the modernist bench and sofa; the indoor plants echo the greenery that this room looks onto; the ceiling looks like it has been limed which is typical of the natural finishes that this duo often select; the hand chair was a lucky vintage find from Peru

The signature use of colour continues in the kitchen with the bottle green island bench which i don't even think i would be brave enough to do - am of course loving the vintage Kilim rug

Another brave use of colour in the formal dining room of the ranch home - the use of white paint helps to break up the saturation of such a strong colour

The entrance to this stunning home - a runner made from antique sari's!

Love this bedroom - especially the internal shutters over the french doors

Another cozy bedroom is created in a Venice Beach home - can't go past a tufted bed head and a seagrass wall paper to provide warmth and texture to a room

The kids bedroom in the Venice Beach home - looks like Cath Kidston wallpaper; the yellow bed frame with the blue and white striped linen is heaven

Am slightly besotted with this bathroom in the same home - beachy boho chic! If we could fit a bath tub in our palm Beach bathroom renovation this black one would be it!

And a stunning kitchen to match - love the open shelved joinery

Another relaxed yet chic bathroom in a Los Feliz home - i have a feeling i will be using these marble hexagon mosaic tiles soon; clever and inexpensive use of the Kartell Componibilli's for storage (assuming they are replica's!)

A gorgeous vintage shelving unit is the perfect piece for holding all of the bathroom essentials - towels and speakers!

More of those stunning shutters and the perfect combination of antique, vintage and new pieces which sit together harmoniously - they clearly have a clever eye!
