One of the more famous Interior Designers out there is Martyn Lawrence Bullard www.martynlawrencebullard.com, he is a LA based designer that started his career as an actor in Hollywood until he invited his producer over for a dinner party at his house; the producer liked what he saw and enlisted Lawrence to decorate his own home! from then on he swapped acting for decorating on a full time basis (if only it was that easy!); i find most of his work a little over the top although this is probably more to do with his clients think Sir Elton John, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Kid Rock, Tamara Mellon (Jimmy Choo founder), but the style of his that i love is when he does Tropical/ Caribbean /Spanish style - take a look .....

Soaring thatched ceilings, Blue and white with an in built couch...and those batik upholstered chairs!! heaven[/caption]

Spanish style architecture again blue and white can't go wrong - love the indoor tree with those high ceilings; i think this might even be Ellen Pompeo's house?

He always uses a lot of black and white african photographs

He is also big on bone inlaid furniture which i absolutely love

Loving the Suzani as a headboard

He does amazing kids bedrooms as he can be quite dramatic in his style, i am considering twin day beds for the girl's bedroom's in Paddo - if i could only find them like this in Australia!?

Love a round dining table - want one for Paddo; will do similar curtains as well

Love those pendant lights - if only we had a room big enough to fit them in!

Blue couches get me every time; am currently getting our previously navy velvet chesterfield re upholstered in this blue coloured stain resistant brushed cotton - will reveal the before and after's once ready;)
