This year is absolutely flying by..we have now officially been renovating for 11 months and we are 4 weeks away from the finish line (although i have a feeling this last 4 weeks is going to drag on like the end of a very uncomfortable pregnancy!)

This week the joinery started going in; painters are finally on site (gosh a bit of undercoat goes a long way in making a huge difference!) and all of our windows went in - yay we are watertight! (real Grand Design moments;)

In the meantime i have been running around like a headless chook..and my gorgeous hubby gifted me with a new camera (Canon G15) as we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary so i have been clicking (instead of clucking!) like crazy - hope you enjoy the images;)

Bring on the weekend!!

The day of the Paddo site inspection started off smoothly - scrambled eggs at Bills Woollahra - they may be made on a cup of cream but boy do they taste good!!

Gigi certainly gave them the thumbs up!

Walking down Caledonia Lane (St behind our house) to drop Gigi off at the local creche - our next-door neighbour (Love you C!) kindly offers to look after her whilst i have have the site meeting;) The bougainvillaea this year is absolutely blooming and the Jacaranda's - devine!!

Fireplace mantle in!! (if you can see behind all of those tools)

Front door on - this will be painted yellow;) The rest of the house will be white

I arrived just in time to see the glass being installed - rather them than me!

concrete daybed formed up! The jacaranda's are beautiful but gee when they fall they leave their mark;) for the month of December our pool turns purple!

A section of the curved glass - definitely rather them than me installing that!

Doors are on the built in wardrobes - instead of handles Luigi designed this motif cut out - love it! Very Van Cleef and Arpels'ish;)

Mirror above the built in bench seat in the girls wardrobe is in!

Attic wardrobes are in..

Painting has begun..

Sectional mirror in the attic bathroom - we couldn't actually fit one piece of glass through the door so we decided to make a pattern of it - love it! (an ode to Granger and Co's Mirror in London) Our's is not gold though!

Walk in Robe almost fully installed - this will be my first WIR and i have to say i am very excited!

After about 6 different paint colours we have finally got a match (trying to replicate JK Capri hotel bedroom) - the top colour Taubman Stunning Sapphire; could look really good or really really bad!

Wall to Wall mirror is in the ensuite - freestanding bath will go in front of this

Kid's bathroom joinery in - we used perforated metal for the doors to conjure up the Moroccan look (also using these in our entertainment unit) the pattern ties in with the door motif cut out on the wardrobe doors

kids bathroom tile finish (no border!) - another finish which could either look really good or really really bad..

House from the rear - finally taking shape! After all only 4 weeks till handover!! Curved windows of breakfast area look great!!

After the meeting we went to check out our new local cafe on Underwood St -'Underwood Cafe" it's just past the Grand National within the 9MSN offices down a long palm fringed footpath; they do great All Press coffee as well!

Menu - everything looked delicious and all very reasonably priced

Lots of room - super kid friendly!!

Gigi loved the banana smoothie!

I had the peach, proscuitto and gruyere salad - yum!

Christiana had the grilled fish of the day with avocado and corn salsa - Yum x 2!

We then picked Ella up from her orientation day and headed down to her favourite jaunt - 'Twisted' at Bondi Beach - Ella prefers hers vanilla with a gummy bear topping!

Yes this was a very long day...we swung by Wylies uniform store in Bondi to stock up for the new school year of course they both had to try them on once they got home (Gigi is only 3 and unfort will not be going to school next year!)
