So the Moroccan Loot has arrived; our house resembles something in between a Souk and a Robyn Cosgrove Rug Store; i can not wait to get the rugs, ceramics, towels/throws, blankets and placemats photographed to get them on to my soon to be open online store..my photographer is booked we are all set to go! then... i get a phone call from Real Living Magazine - any chance we can shoot your house?

Me: Um Yes

Real Living: Any chance we can shoot it tomorrow? We have the most amazing photographer Sharyn Cairns who is almost impossible to book yet she has a last minute cancellation

Me: Ok..let me think about it....(half an hour later whilst juggling in my head can i actually cancel my own photoshoot which has been planned for weeks)

Me to Real Living: OK let's lock it in;)

Thankfully my Photographer could reschedule; i take a look around our house which did i mention now looks like a bomb has gone off in the middle of a souk thinking how am i going to get this photoshoot ready in a matter of hours...huge thanks to my Mum and my Hubby and to our neighbours (C & M) whose house now looks like a rug shop;)

The shoot happened today; we had a great time and most importantly got some amazing images; i played stylist with photographer Sharyn Cairns and her assistant Lisa at the time having no idea just how talented and well regarded a photographer Sharyn was/is; at the end of the shoot Sharyn gave me her card and i checked out her website.....wowsers!! as it turns out she is one of if not the most talented interior/ food  and travel photographers in Australia - she regularly shoots for Vogue Living, Australia Gourmet Traveler and Inside & Out and has shot the odd cook book - think Guy Grossi and Maggie Beer! So here are some of my favourite images of hers..most of which i had seen in magazines before and thought at the time what a great photo but not realising until now it was Sharyn's handiwork (if you are an avid magazine reader like me i am sure you will also recognise some of the images as well!)

Most of the images are from her agents site www.hart&co.com.au you can see more of Sharyn's work at her own site www.sharyncairns.com.au

This was a shoot Sharyn did for a recent Country Syle article featuring a stunning house in Tasmania

The way she captures natural light is amazing (i am kind of obsessed with these painted floorboards as well)

The homestead in Tasmania which was featured in the June Issue of Country Style..makes you want to move to the Country

Still life..the images is so crisp and beautiful again from the Country Style June Issue

Sharyn has done a lot of shoots with stylist Glen Proebstel this one was for Inside Out

Yet another stunning shoot she did for Inside Out Magazine; on average she takes 500 stills to shoot one house - maybe 8 of these will make the cut for the magazine!

She has even shot for Interior Designer David Hicks

And she has shot the Tuckey's homes (as in Mark Tuckey)...love this bathroom!

The living Room of the Tuckey's former Melbourne home..you can start to see the signature Sharyn crisp yet relaxed way of shooting

Sharyn shot this Avalon home for Real Living late last year - is one of my favourite shoots for the mag

This Avalon house looked incredible..that staircase which Sharyn captures the curve of so well.

One of my favourite images from this Real Living shoot..it really conveys the feeling of the room and the style of the home

Now onto some of Sharyn's travel shots - this one in Mexico for Gourmet Traveller.

Maldives for Gourmet Traveller...can not beat blue, white and red..take me there.

Yes Sharyn does travel a lot for work..Costa Brava in Spain for Gourmet Traveler

Sharyn shooting in Tanzania

I seriously want these travel shots on my walls..a Gelato store in Cuba

And in Marsielle for Gourmet Traveller..ok its official i may want to become a photographer;)

Now Sharyn also manages to nail food..this is from Guy Grossi's cook book..yum!

Is this not the most appetising and stylish pear tart you have ever seen?!

Oxtail Pancetta anyone?

And not only does Sharyn shoot food and Interiors she of course also shoots the restaurants - she did the images for Stoke House...book me in!
