If there was one skill which i wish i had it would be upholstery; firstly because its a really exxy undertaking so would save money and secondly because you see amazing transformations happen to furniture.

I had bought a velvet chesterfield couch from John and Ginger (www.johnandginger.com.au) which was the victim of a party vomit (again we still love u Tistoff!); i was looking to get it re covered anyway so the vomit was the nail in the coffin to make me do it (nothing like the stench of vomit to get you motivated!). I can thank Tistoff now as our newly upholstered couch got delivered this week courtesy of Beachwood www.beachwood.com.au and i am thrilled to bits with the transformation. I chose a stain resistant fabric from Warwick however the girls have been warned strictly no eating anywhere on or near the couch!! Also delivered were 2 bedheads that i had made up for Palmy.

I also took the plunge on getting the bed head's made up for Paddo as the gorgeous fabric that i bought from Quadrille www.quadrillefabrics.com in NY arrived this week - no turning back now!! Let's just hope we can stay stain free!;)

The couch before....

The couch after..of course the girls jumped straight on it! I had the piping done in a white brushed cotton to accentuate the lines; the couch will be moved to our Paddo sitting room once renno's are finished..

The upholsterer did such a good job - really happy with his workmanship

The double bed head - piped front and back - first saw the fabric in John and Ginger as a table cloth..

Yellow cotton/linen blend; again piped front and back; this room gets A LOT of sun so we were not fazed if the yellow fades

China Sea's fabric 'Lyford Backround Magenta on White Linen' for the girl's bed head's - they will be sharing a room so bed's will be side by side in Paddo

Girl's bed head's will be piped in this light blue coloured fabric

The other fabric in the girl's room will be an upholstered seat built into their wardrobe - using Christopher Farr Brisa from Ascraft - going for a bit of a jungle theme!

Measuring up the fabric for our King Size bed head for our Master bedroom in Paddo - just enough!

I am in loovvveee with this fabric - Quadrille China Seas Sultan II, Turquoise/Navy on White www.quadrillefabrics.com; piped in white

Then finally i am using the China Seas Island Ikat fabric with piping in the salmon pink for a custom made ottoman with skirting; this will go in the middle of our walk in robe in Paddo
